How Transmission Gear works

The gearbox is responsible for providing multiple gear ratios to the engine output shaft, which is then transmitted to the wheels through the driveshaft and the differential. In a manual transmission system, the driver manually selects the gear ratio by operating the gear shifter and clutch pedal. When the clutch is engaged, the engine power is transmitted to the gearbox through the input shaft. The gears on the input shaft mesh with the corresponding gears on the output shaft, and the power is transmitted to the wheels.

In an automatic transmission system, the gears are changed automatically by a hydraulic or electronic system based on the engine speed and vehicle speed. The torque converter replaces the clutch, and it allows the engine to continue running while the vehicle is stationary. The transmission system automatically selects the gear ratio depending on the speed and load conditions.
